10月23日讯据多家意媒报道，沙特足协准备炒掉曼奇尼，提供丰厚报价让齐达内接手沙特主帅一职。据法国记者Jacques Vendroux表示，齐达内完全有可能接受这一邀请。
Jacques Vendroux谈道了几个原因：“首先是齐达内有能力执教任何一支国家队或俱乐部，他接受沙特的挑战完全有可能。其次，他已经三年没有出来执教了。此外，因为现在德尚仍完全掌控着法国队，不过齐达内相信总有一天他会成为法国队主帅。”
不过，欧洲一台的足球评论员Alain Giresse表示：“沙特主帅的任期一般不长，你必须警惕这样的传言，因为每当有职位空缺时，比如拜仁、巴黎甚至阿尔及利亚，人们都会提到齐达内。所以我并不能完全相信这样的传闻，如果他真想执教，他早就出来了。”
